Notice from Highways

The carriageway was reinstated earlier today and we have inspected as need to ensure that this is cooled and set completely before allowing traffic to use. Particularly, as this weekend will have heavy use due to the HE full closure at Chowns Mill roundabout A45/A6. Closed 20.00 Friday – 05.00 Monday.

We are confident Ditchford will be ready to open at 15.00 today.

Winds have increased through the night and this morning winds will be gusting 50-60mph across the county.

There is an emergency closure implemented yesterday on Ditchford Road, Rushden by Cadent Gas. (the road over the River Nene, connecting the west of Rushden with Wellingborough and Irthlingborough)

We realise this is causing concern due to the planned full closure at the A6/A45 Chowns Mill roundabout this weekend.

Highways England reminds Drivers planning essential journeys this weekend to allow extra time if planning to travel through the A45/A6 Chowns Mill junction in Northamptonshire.

Over the past year, good progress has been made to works to improve the A45/A6 Chowns Mill Roundabout. Once complete, the improvements will reduce congestion, improve safety and provide better crossing facilities for pedestrians and cyclists.
