That time of year and after the lifting of some lockdown restrictions there has been a noticeable feeling of freedom. We are expecting youths to be tempted to swim in the River NENE or local lakes.
Please discourage those you know, that may be tempted.
The NENE is slow moving but the strength of the current is deceiving.
Lots of unseen underwater snags, weed and silt.

Highways England is following government policy and for the safety of all, they are asking customers wishing to use the free shuttle bus service to wear a face mask otherwise they will be denied travel.
The shuttle bus will have plastic shielding between the driver and passenger area and the bus will be cleaned after each trip.

A45 Chowns Mill Roundabout Improvement Scheme
Progress report - June 2020
Despite several COVID-19 challenges, we've now completed the first phase of the work.
The permanent traffic management system (Multibloc) is now in place, which means both lanes of the A45 dual carriageway are now open but with narrower lanes.

Last night Cllr Adrian Winkle was the first mayor to be re- elected via a virtual zoom meeting of the council.
Cllr Winkle made his oath and was declared Mayor for a second term and will continue his fund raising efforts to support the Town through these challenging times.

The Town Council wish to address the concerns of some residents regarding the flower bed on the corner of Victoria Street which was very kindly planted by Jenny Reece of the Irthlingborough Flower Company.
