Cllr Hafiz Khandwala
I was born in London and educated in Sussex, Switzerland, and the United States. I moved to Irthlingborough over 30 years ago having previously lived and worked in Tanzania. I am the Managing Director of a business in Wellingborough manufacturing cosmetics that myself and my wife set up after we moved into the area. We have two adult sons; one still lives in Irthlingborough.
I was first elected to the Irthlingborough Town Council in 2015 and currently serve as Chairman of the Policy & Resources and Planning Committees. I have a keen sense of community service and was involved with the local Round Table for many years. I have been a trustee of the Northamptonshire Association for the Blind for over 15 years, the leading provider of advice, support, and information for anyone suffering sight loss in Northamptonshire. I am also the Family Trustee of the Sir Yusufali Charitable Trust in Mombasa, Kenya which provides support primarily in the areas of education and health.
