Cllr Caroline Cross

I was first elected on to Irthlingborough Town Council in a by election (2012). I was re-elected in May 2015. I have lived in Irthlingborough since 2003 and I also lived her in the early 80s. Born in Finedon, I have also lived in Great Addington and London. My mother and grandparents were born in this town. I spent many hours here throughout my childhood, so I know what a thriving town Irthlingborough once was. I was also a member of the 1st Irthlingborough Brownies (Sprites!). My dad was a Venture Scout here and he worked at Keunen Bros for some years.

I have served on the Property and Services Committee and the Events Working Party. I am currently a member of the Policy and Resources Committee. I hope you will ascertain from Agendas and Minutes of meetings that I have addressed some of your concerns. I have played a major role in putting together the last few Christmas Fests and I was responsible for the town's inaugural May Day event. I've been thinking lately that a town pantomime might be a good wheeze. Oh yes it would!

As a Councillor, I am keen to do all that I can to revive the town's fortunes. I truly believe that Irthlingborough will rise again. I don't suppose that we can ever be what we once were, but we can reinvent ourselves. Whatever I feel I can do to make this happen, I will.

I am Secretary of the Irthlingborough Food Bank, Irthlingborough and Woodford Labour Party and IGrow (Irthlingborough Events). I work with the elderly and I volunteer for a national helpline. I hold a Councillors surgery at the library on the third Saturday of the month, 10am until 12 noon.
